Switching to AA

I know there are other threads on this but circumstances change and are unique to situation. I am BA Gold for Life and Gold Guest List (but about to lose that) and based in US. So...

I am commuting weekly to Boston from PHL on American
I have 2 transatlantics coming up over next 3 weeks that I can credit to BA or AA
I will be doing 6+ longhauls (biz) a year

Do I switch to AA. I have noticed that AA status helps more when there is a disruption but obviously don't need to earn status for lounge bags etc. I could apply for AA Credit Card and have the BA Credit Card.

I have asked the experts on BA forum too.

Tx

1. Do you think you’ll reach Gold Guest List for life? If so, keep on crediting to BA.

2. Since you are Gold for Life, you’ll get access to Flagship Lounge via BA status; but no FFL access with non flagship domestic routes with AA status. FFL coming soon to PHL.

3.BA status is easy to maintain from the east coast; plus an yearly European trip to look forward to.

4. Unless you’ll get CK status or value chances of domestic upgrades; go with BA.

5. Do you see yourself using AA points or BA/QR Avios more?

With your yearly spend, will you at least reach Platinum Pro? If not, keep crediting to BA

This same question is cross-posted in the BA forum. As that one has more replies, I'll close this thread and refer people over there:

Cross-Posting

Don't post your topic more than once. Duplicate threads or posts will be deleted, combined or locked. You may cross reference a post in another forum. For example, if you are questioning whether American Airlines or United Airlines may be the best fit for you, post the primary question in perhaps the American forum and then post a link to that thread in the United forum. An exception to this rule includes posts related to charitable activities, please see Rule 11 — Charitable Posts.
