age checkbox

When buying on the AA website, there is a box to check for up to 64 and 65+.

Does this actually do anything?

Yes: it makes me feel old.

(This might just be a remnant of the time when AA offered discounted fares for seniors.)

See this thread and post: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/35615784-post8.html

Seems there may be some specific markets with senior discounts, albeit very limited.

Maybe for exit row seating?

An AS flight I was on had a flock of old bats in the exit row, think late 70's- early 80' age wise.

No way they were doing anything useful if TSHTF.

Thanks, kind of what I expected.
