To be fair aa.com does have the disclaimer that exceptions may apply. It just so happens that the exceptions list is quite extensive - some might even go as far as to describe it as all-encompassing.

Checking the AA full website at https://www.americanairlines.com.au/...-statuses.html , there is nothing indicating lounge access for those with Gold Status
