AAdvantage Dining Posting Slowly/Not Posting?

I've had a few restaurant visits that haven't posted in a timely manner. One is annoying because I'm trying to get to 10 dines early this year (and get to the 5/6.5 points-per-dollar level sooner rather than later) and the other is annoying because it's a $200 bill (so 780 LPs since I'm at +30%). I've put in a ticket on the former one (since I'm through ten days - it was on 12/31) and I'm not there on the other (which was only yesterday). Any idea what's up with this? I ask because this is at a pair of places that posted right away in the past.

Same thing happened to me recently. A favored breakfast place that had always posted like a well oiled machine, just stopped mid-October.

I went back 4-5 times, as AA Dining claimed it was glitch on the Merchant's side with Mastercard, that would be resolved.

Although I eventually got my points for all the visits, the process and cycling with AA Dining, got annoying and old very fast.

(Wait 10 days, submit form, don't hear from AA except the automated message, call AA in frustration 3-5 days - after all, you submit a receipt - how hard can it be -, a 5 minute call with a polite agent who promised the points would be credited, 2-3 days later points would post. Rinse and repeat.)

A few weeks ago, I received an email from AA Dining that the Merchant had left the program.

Coincidence? Who knows. I've been out of town since December but will probably talk to the Merchant when I get back & ask what happened from their perspective.

I mean, both merchants are in both Upside and AAdvantage Dining, and since AAdvantage isn't cash back (which would deduct against Upside, not to mention get a passive-aggressive message from Upside), it stacks nicely (at 5 RDMs with AA, it'd be 10% via AA, 5-6% via Upside, and 6% via CSR...which would be 12% with a new ChaseFU).

The AAdvantage Dining program isn't what it once was! at least in my neck of the woods there is only one restaurant that is close, and it's take out orders only. Placed an order through the website which kicked me over to ChowNow. to chase a 250 mile offer for my next dine and review. order didn't track, opened a ticket at 10 days, got the standard auto reply, then last week got this email"Thank you for your email!

Please be advised, we are experiencing higher than normal ticket volumes at this moment.

We have received your email and it is in our queue to address. Your inquiry is very important to us. Thank you for your patience while we respond to your email as soon as possible."
it's now a week later, and still nothing. seems lately that AAdvantage Dining and AAdvantage eShopping are both Woefully understaffed, and requests for missing miles/LP's are taking forever. I know they are 2 separate organizations But. they both started having issues with things not posting that use to around the same time . and their response time to requests are both dismal at best.

I have never - and not exaggerating, it is literally 'never' - had AA dining contact me after receiving that email. (That I think is the standard reply now when submitting an inquiry.) Even after waiting 1-2 weeks.

So I always call now 3-5 days later. It usually starts to get resolved on the call, with points actually posting in 2-3 days.

First time I used this program (with AA) it seems. I recently noticed that I had a 500 mile first dine bonus, and I was in another city that actually had a few restaurants that were conveniently located to where we were staying. The one dine posted quickly after about three days. Still waiting for the 500 miles… but I don’t expect to rack up a ton of miles with this program. In my neck of the woods there is just one restaurant and a couple of sandwich shops participating, and none of them is convenient or particularly interesting.

FWIW my "first dine" 500 mile bonus offer had a min $25 spend requirement.

Mine, too. We were a party of four and spent over $100.

I don’t bother with the to-go-only options since the prices get inflated by a lot (compared to visiting chownow directly) so the handful of miles would be very expensive. The only time I got miles for an in-restaurant visit is back awhile ago when AAdvantage had an anniversary special—I got the bonus miles but not any miles for the actual restaurant visit.

Reading the T&C again, the bonus also required leaving a review for the restaurant. Did that now.

Yes. I looked at the Hilton Dining takeout options a while ago (since there are so few dine-in options in my market) and it was pretty pathetic compared to what ordering directly from the restaurant would have cost. I assume it’s the same for AA Dining and won’t even bother looking at them.
