I'm sorry is it just me or that actually looks like a Delta meal? I realize it's AA due to the distinct image of the Super Diamond flat beds in the background, but the meal itself looks nearly identical to some chicken entrees I have had in domestic DL F.

The one on the left is the golden chicken that AA has had for quite awhile.

I don't know if it's the lighting of the image but the golden chickens I have had all looked quite yellow whilst the one in the picture appears fatter and whiter; also, they were served in rectangular plates not circular ones

Nice crew and very attentive. I had ordered the cheese plate but ended up with the shawarma chicken due to a catering mix up, and it was awful. Incidentally, the other two options for those who did not preorder were the chicken and a grain bowl. The flight attended heard from a few people how bad that shawarma chicken tasted. I only took a few bites before I gave up. Just not a great taste.

Options

Drinks and warm nuts

Shawarma chicken and turmeric rice

Round bowls on tonights SEA MIA too, but only for some dishes.

Just saw a post on Reddit showing round bowl (for entree only) in J, DFW-LHR.

There have now been reports out of a number of stations this past week.

This is the Reddit post in question: https://www.reddit.com/r/americanair...a_bass_was_on/.

Definitely looks like AA is transitioning its meal service. Looks GREAT! High time for a refresh, for sure. Also loving the ramekin in the plate—feels like classic pmAA with their plates and sauce ramekins in the middle. Much classier looking than the current square ones for sure.

Nicer plates? Uh ok. Nicer plates are... nice. But how about improving the food that goes on them?

AA is going to look silly if they continue to put the same tiny quantity of greens that constitutes the domestic salad in a deeper bowl. Recently did a couple of ~900 mile dinner flights in UA domestic F and, while the mains weren't any better than what AA serves, at least the meals were hearty with a decent sized salad.

Shrimp and grits with curry; one of my top choices if you like seafood.

Crab salad with pineapple and pomegranate.

Round bowls are here to stay.

Another positive experience with the Mojo Chicken. Enough spice to be enjoyable at altitude without being overly spicy. Chicken moist unlike the typical golden chicken experience.

The new crockery looks a little bland (again...plain white) but at least a step forward from the rectangular plates arranged like legos on the tray

MIA-DCA 4/8 4:45pm Departure
What should I go with? I am thinking short rib but what is the most consistent dish out of MIA?

What did you think of the round plates/bowls, personally? Did they appear more premium in person than the older square dishes they replaced?
