What catering to expect on upcoming LAX-MCO flight in F

Apologies if I'm in the wrong thread and if this has been asked before.
Have an upcoming flight with AA First Class.
LAX-MCO late evening departure 9.33 pm arriving into MCO 05.12 AM
Any ideas what to expect on board .. will there be meals based on route and departure time?
Thanks in advance

I don't believe there is a meal service (my red-eyes typically depart after 11pm though), so there will just be the traditional snack basket shortly after departure.

Expect nothing. Bring an eye mask. Hope to sleep.

If you plan on going on an all night binge, then pick an aisle seat and be prepared to use the drink button overhead near your air vents and reading lights.

I never heard it called the drink button, but I like it!

The AA web site used to say there would be no meals on US flights departing after 8:00 PM. Now it just says that flights over 900 miles receive a meal during "meal times" but does not define it. I think it is safe to say that any departure after 9:00 would not receive a full meal.

Just to confirm, on an upcoming SFO-CLT red-eye departing around midnight, the meal service is called Refreshment. I was hoping this would be a fruit and cheese plate or similar, but it sounds like it is just a pass of the snack basket?

you will find a bottle of water preprovisioned at your seat, one pass of the snack basket and a credit card pitch and like it. If you complain, youll be deplaned for being disruptive.

Sadly, probably accurate (and you'll be lucky if you get even the water). AA really seems to be going in the wrong direction with catering and premium cabin service.

These redeye transcons used to get more special treatment by AA -- I had to dig through the archives to find this one, but here's a photo I took of a very nice strawberry chicken salad served to me in First back in early 2013 between LAX and MCO on a 757. Warm nuts, Ghirardelli chocolate square, bread selection, wine service from the bottle with the meal. Gosh, it used to be so much better.

Even as recently as early 2020 I received this as a continental breakfast just before landing on a domestic redeye SEA-MIA, as well as waking up to the smell of hot coffee ready to serve. Nothing mind blowing but a nice way to feel more ready to go upon landing. Not to mention then domestic aircraft were provisioned with duvet and pillow packs from intl J on those long flights. Now you are lucky to get a cup of water in the morning, and I travel with my own blanket and pillow on redeyes. Hate it but being west coast based it is a so much better use of time than losing a full day in the air.

Will they still do a couple passes of drink service? I dont much need a meal for a flight departing 10 or 11pm, but a couple Glenlivets definitely help me get to sleep easier.

Really just depends on the FA. Some will do this, some won't.
