Experience claiming new Canadian delay compensation
Hi all,
Does anyone have experience claiming the Canadian compensation for an AA flight? Flight was AA6011 Montreal to Philadelphia. Inbound aircraft went tech and returned to PHL and was delayed approx 3 hours. I would have missed my connection in PHL so agent rebooked me to next day via LGA. So I'll be more than 24 hour delayed to my final destination. Agent said I'd be able to claim hotels + compensation, but I have no idea how to go about this. They gave out cards that said go to: https://aa.com/Canadapassengers
Any help would be appreciated!

Yes of course, but there is no specific way to submit a claim under the Canadian guidelines. The link brings you to a generic AA customer service page. The post was intended for people that have experience filing one of these claims successfully. Is that you?

I recommend contacting AA as the site instructs you to do.

The instructions are pretty vague. There is 98% chance the first agent you talk to when you "contact AA" will have no idea what you are talking about. Some more detailed directions could save hours of aggravation.

If you open the sub-bullets, AA has a lot of detail as to what one can expect. I would contact AA, reference what is due, include any required receipts, and let the agent process it. Be succinct.
