Plea for Help! Emergency Landing AA 445 Flight from Las Vegas to Charlotte

Pleading for help! I am looking for anyone who was on AA flight #445 from Las Vegas, NV to Charlotte, NC on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

My husband was on this flight by himself, and he had a medical emergency, causing this flight to have an emergency landing. Sadly, my dear husband passed away following this emergency landing. My husband was a healthy 37-year-old. We know there was a doctor on board, who provided assistance.

Please, I am begging for anyone on this flight that can provide any information or shed some light into what happened to my husband during this flight.

Sorry for your loss.
It is unlikely anyone on the plane (with the possible exception of the MD who assisted) could provide accurate info. I would try contacting the Medical Examiners office in the city where the plane landed. In addition there will be a death certificate with a cause of death listed. Perhaps you could get family or a friend to make these calls for you as it might be too painful for you.

This is so tragic, sorry for your loss. Have you reached out to AA, or the hospital he was transported to ? They may have better information for you.

Your flight numbers appear to be incorrect.

Flight aware says AA 445 is Philadelphia to Dallas. If you are going to ask AA for information you need to recheck this.

Could you mean AA 425? Phoenix to Charlotte?

Addendum:
Flight Aware shows that AA 425 was diverted to Las Vegas with total flight time of 1 hour 4 minutes, initial departure, Phoenix.

I thought the same initially although it appears AA445 was LAS-CLT until 3rd April. No idea why the change

We are currently attempting to obtain hospital records and we know the cause of death. We are just seeking for information from passengers that witnessed the emergency. We want to know what happened on the flight to my husband. We want to know what he said. We are desperate to know more details, than just records.

Does anyone have some insight as to why this would happen?

Flight numbers change with some regularity, it's nothing to do with what happened onboard.
You have my condolences.

My deepest condolences on the tragic death of your husband.

Have you tried asking AA to contact all passengers seated close to your late husband with a message from you like the one you posted here? Some kind soul may reply with helpful information.

I only suggest it because the chances of a passenger who witnessed this terrible event being here on FT is very low.

Does anyone have some insight as to why this would happen?
People who could most likely answer you above questions:
-Passengers seated near your husband
-Flight attendants
-Physician who attended to your husband in flight

Only American Airlines could provide the Names of these people however be aware that all of the above have expectations of privacy, even after the event that occurred with your husbands death.
Perhaps the "easiest " for AA to inquire about you contacting in some manner (phone, email, letter,) that they would find acceptable, would be the flight attendants as AA employees. AA might be able to provide an indirect contact method for them whereby you could have your questions answered without significantly violating their privacy.

I don't see how American could divulge passenger information to allow you to contact them, so you would have to go the other way and set up a web page, Face Book page, Twitter page, etc about your husband with the hope that one of the above people would see these social media devices and contact you.

I am so sorry for your loss and wish you success in you search for answers.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Not sure if this is helpful or not, but twelve years ago I was on a United flight from LAX-EWR, we were coming back from a medical conference and there were a number of physicians on the flight. A passenger went into cardiac arrest and two of my colleagues and one other physician jumped into action and never stopped working on him and were able to regain a pulse. We landed 30 minutes later and the patient was transported off the plane - United took the contact info of my colleagues and within weeks they received a very nice letter from corporate, a significant number of miles and something else that I cannot remember. I cannot recall exactly, maybe six or eight weeks later someone from United contacted my colleague and explained the patient (who survived without any issues) and his family would like to thank them and would it be acceptable to provide contact info , which my colleague replied in the affirmative, providing his contact info at the hospital and not his personal residence.

As I mentioned, this was some time ago and things have changed since then, but I would contact AA and ask if they would contact the physician who assisted your husband so that you can thank him for his efforts.

Again, I am so sorry you need to go through this.

Per another suggestion above, one way to handle the privacy concerns would be to ask AA to provide these individuals with *your* contact information, and pass along your request for contact.

I've also lost a spouse, and make the following suggestion with great empathy for your situation. While these individuals have not suffered the same type of permanent loss that you have, this may well have been a very traumatic experience for some of them as well. You may want to bear that in mind when asking AA to pass along a message on your behalf. Some of them may be reluctant to relive this experience, It may be easier for some of them to share their recollections in writing or with a neutral third party rather than speaking directly with you, who they don't know, but who will understandably be very upset. They may be more comfortable sharing if you can reassure them that you are looking for information more than looking to assign blame. In sum, while it is absolutely understandable that you would want this contact, you may need to be gentle in your approach.

I wish you luck in your search and hope you succeed in learning more. You have my deepest condolences on your loss.

This is absolutely no practical use to you in your search. I am here to offer my sincerest condolences at your shocking and terrible loss. My heart goes out to you as I know exactly how I would feel were it my husband. I am unsure why you want to know what happened on the flight - surely there has been an autopsy which will tell you medically happened.

Please do not think that I am trying to pry and I hope that if it gives you comfort you find the answers that you seek.
