100k AA LP = Avis Presidents Club, how does it take effect?

Tried a search to know avail, has anyone acquired Avis Presidents Club who didn't have it already, via reaching the 100k Loyalty Points level? Do you need to contact someone on one of the sides to make it happen? My account still shows lowly Avis preferred after a few months so it's seemingly not automatic.

These new loyalty choice rewards levels are not retroactive to 2022. I doubt anyone has earned 100,000 loyalty points in the past 12 hours.

Good catch, I didn't realize that Avis Presidents Club might be a first time benefit of AA status. I'm sure some will hit 100k business credit spend shortly and report back here on the process.

I wonder if Avis are looking at old data, because I got PC status a few weeks ago with no notice or email. But I've also read that PC can also be obtained with spend, so I have no idea which prompted the "upgrade" from Preferred Plus — which really hasn't changed anything other than I got a base Cadillac CT5 as a replacement for an ailing Honda Accord hybrid that was my pick over the assigned "it's an upgrade!" Honda CRV.

^ I did this also, very quick. Received a "welcome aboard" email from Avis in about 15 minutes.

However, it took roughly a day for the change to be reflected in my Avis account.

All the best, James

AA Unlocks Avis Presidents Club

One of the perks of American Airlines Loyalty Points is hitting 100,000 LP that they offer membership in Avis Presidents Club status and I can honestly state that this is a fantastic perk that has really served me well over the past few months renting cards with Avis. In fact, I would choose this perk over a AA SWU as I am getting great use of Avis PC while my SWU constantly expire unused as it is so damn hard to find a flight with SWU availability.

For the past there rentals via Avis, since I was upgraded to president club, every rental has been at least a double or triple upgrade and two of the cars were brand new with less than 250 miles on them and one was a cool Genesis G80 electric. I am super impressed, so far with this perk, as for many years I was Avis Preferred Plus, but never able to crack into the President Club and I am very happy to report great upgrades.

Finally with all the negative news, I am happy to report this is a really really great perk.

I for one will tell everyone Presidents Club sucks at major airports like LAX. Chairmans club works great. For LAX you are better off with Preferred in my opinon. It all has to do with car shortages.

Well, getting Chairman's Club is no easy task and appears to be limited to high rollers. I can only speak to someone that does about 30-50 days per year car rental and using mainly Avis that I found Presidents Circle to be FAR SUPRIOR to Preferred Plus and that includes LAX where I received a new Mercedes with under 500 miles. I also had a new Genesis G80 in Oakland and new car in North Carolina, etc. I enver got those cars under Preferred or Preferred Plus.

I really don't understand how anyone can claim Preferred is better then Presidents, but if you are Chairman's then you probably cant remember what it was like in the lower categories.

Avis has been so wildly inconsistent lately that I really can't tell the difference between PPlus (which I've had for years) and PC, but as of late the upgrades from "intermediate" (the only class I'm allowed to book on work trips) have been pretty good.

I just linked Preferred Plus to my AVIS account. Fairly simple. Now I need to go on a tire run I suppose and get ready for Presidents Club. 😎

I already have Avis PC status. What is the status expiration date usually?

If I click through AA's website and get PC status again, when will the status expired? Anyone know?

Also the PC status for me is kind of frustrating. I usually reserve a full-size car, regular sedan in the size of Camry or Avalon. In the past 3 rentals Avis "upgrade" me pickups and tall SUVs like 4-runner
