Trying to avoid pitfalls in a split reservation with a codeshare flight...

I referenced an issue with a reservation I have for May round trip starting in CLT to and from Naples, Italy in May in another thread here. In summary, I am part of a two passenger reservation through AA redeemed using miles. Outbound CLT->DFW->LHR->NAP and inbound NAP->LHR->JFK->CLT. All are first class/F seats aside from the segments to and from NAP. Due to schedule changes and the fact that AA metal does not go to NAP and a problem with the initial reservation (I was on the actual ticket with the salutation Dr. even though I did not request this when making the multi-city booking over the phone with the EXP agent; this has since been fixed), the reservation is a bit messier at this point. Explanation follows.

The flights were all originally AA aside from the flights to and from Naples which are BA. With the scheduling change I had to make when some flights were moved to different times of day, I ended up getting changed to an AA codeshare flight operated by BA (the LHR->JFK leg; I was originally booked going through MIA instead, on AA metal).

The reservation was split up into two record locators I can pull up through AA's website after they took my Dr. salutation off. I cannot see the seats I have on the BA flights (to and from NAP, and the LHR->JFK leg) through the AA website, but using the BA record locators for those flights I can see my guaranteed seats on BA's website, using four separate record locators (see below). When I call BA, they claim that that codeshare flight from LHR->JFK is "operated by AA" even though it clearly isn't. I can book a dummy reservation on that flight through BA.com and it is clearly a BA flight. No AA flight to JFK leaves at that time.

There is a separate single BA record locator number for the LHR->NAP and NAP->LHR segments where I can see and edit both of those flights as part of the itinerary on BA's website. The LHR->JFK flight I got into, however, cannot be edited and seats cannot be seen for that flight in the itinerary using that record locator. An entirely new BA record locator was made for that segment for me and when I use it, I can see my confirmed seats but not make any changes on BA's website.

Every record locator I cite above for me has a corresponding different record locator set aside for my wife who is flying with me.

In total here I have 6 record locators now:
- The AA record locator for me; when accessing this on aa.com it shows the entire itinerary and shows the corresponding BA record locators that allow me to access the BA flights per below. I can only edit seats on the AA segments using this locator.
- The AA record locator for my wife; same as above re:aa.com and BA record locators
- The BA record locator for the LHR->NAP and NAP->LHR for me; I can edit seats on those two legs using this locator. The entire itinerary pops up but I am not allowed to edit the LHR->JFK segment using this locator.
- The BA record locator for the LHR->NAP and NAP->LHR for my wife; same as above.
- The BA record locator for my LHR->JFK leg; I can see the seats I have for this segment but cannot edit anything at BA's site using this locator.
- The BA record locator for my wife's LHR->JFK leg

When any of my above record locators is pulled over the phone with AA/BA, apparently my wife's is shown with it as being part of the same reservation.

I am hoping to avoid any snags on the trip with regards to having such a fractured reservation at this point. Looking for insight into any way to head this off or any particular issues I should be on the lookout for. I notably plan to take advantage of first class check in lines at CLT and NAP with AA/BA and will be utilizing first class lounges in T3 outbound and T5 inbound (Concorde lounge!) and the Chelsea lounge at JFK along with Flagship First dining in DFW. Baggage handling and allowance/free checked bags should be in line with international first and hoping not to run into any snags at check in for flights related to this. Priority luggage handling tags I know are a joke and I am not expecting any priority given to this, but that I don't really care about. I do, however, want my luggage to end up getting to its final destinations and am hoping that the fracturing of the reservation will not affect this.

I also am concerned that I will not be able to preorder meals for the LHR->JFK segment in BA F or even see the menus for it given the issues I note above. Is this something I could get through calling BA <30 days from the flight if I ultimately can't acess it on their website?

I am wondering if on the LHR->JFK leg I will be getting loyalty points or at least miles towards million miler status through AA. I have no need for Avios or BA loyalty program stuff since I will almost never be using it and would rather get AA loyalty credit.

Finally, if there are any irregular operations and the LHR->JFK BA flight gets mucked up, I am not sure which airline to call to remedy the situation.

Hopefully I am being too paranoid and this is all very simple and without worry, but if not, I appreciate any advice you guys can give.

I don't think there is any problem. The AA PNR is the primary one and it shows all your flights. Print out that itinerary and you will have proof that they were all reserved as one trip. It is normal to have separate BA PNRs and to be unable to choose seats online in some cases. If you need to need to address seats or meals, you call call the pertinent operating airline.
