BA Flight Award Availability
 

Has anyone noticed this year the sharp decrease in available flights to be booked on AA using BA miles? Many routes especially originating from AA's hub in Dallas have been completely dropped or limited to just Tuesday and Wednesday availability. Last year the same routes 7 seats were available both economy and business for all days in the week. Anybody know the reason of the decrease?

While there have been a couple of exceptions posted by other FTers, generally speaking, the only AA flights that can be booked with Avios are those that AA is offering at the "MileSAAver" award level. AA now seems to be offering fewer MileSAAver award seats, in favor of more "Web Special" award seats. Some Web Special awards even cost fewer AA miles than MileSAAver awards, but still cannot be booked with Avios. Occasionally, AA will offer both Web Special and MileSAAver awards on the same flight; those flights should be bookable with Avios.
