PHX seeing more wide bodies this winter

Looks like PHX is finally getting more domestic woidebodies this winter. Used to be just one a day from PHL or CLT but now we have them from MIA, DFW etc starting in Nov. Great!

MIA is new. DFW/CLT/PHL/ORD saw widebodies in the winter on a regular basis in the past. I doubt PHL will see a WB flight to PHX in the near future given how much AA has cut down the PHL hub, so not as much connectivity/trunk traffic through PHL nowadays.

Nice seeing widebodies return domestically after the busy TATL season.

When is MIA starting? I'm not seeing it for dates in November?

Quick search on AA.com using 12/16 as the date I am seeing 772 on the 8:52am MIA-PHX flight then the 2:10pm PHX-MIA is also on the 772.

I am not 100% sure on the start date.

DFW-PHX sees a few widebodies on popular travel days around Thanksgiving, but that looks to be it.

Looks like its only HNL and MIA from PHX this year with some random DFW flights.

MIA will see a ton of domestic WB flights this winter. The other hubs not so much. PHL will not see a single domestic WB flight outside from odd flights. Shows how much relevance the PHL hub has lost in the AA network.

So just the holidays. PHX is a big December through February destination for me. Great hiking and weather. (Florida has the weather but other than TPA not the hiking). Alas most of the winter will be the 321neo luxury liner.

PHX-OGG is usually winter widebody, too, during the holiday travel season.

The reduction in flights in PHL are tied to reduced TATL and business traffic. With leisure traffic up and PHX being a strong leisure destination in the winter it would stand to reason that PHL would still see widebody flights to PHX and, as in the past, MIA.

I thought there was a "shortage of wide bodies" to service lucrative long-haul destinations? Now there's an abundance at low-yield PHX? Is there not even a more lucrative domestic destination, versus the WN capital of America?

There is definitely a wide body from PHX to PHL. I was scheduled on one for Nov 28 before changing to a later flight from PHX to PHL

You're right. It looks like there is a 788 early morning on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays in November, starting 11/4.
