Deliveries resumed in august.
AA will receive 5 new 788s by end of the year. Maybe they’re burning in new crews on domestic routes during the off season when they’re pulled from TA routes.

You must be very careful with the Phx Hawaii route. They move the widebody between OGC and HNL to PHX and it takes a lot of understanding to figure out why and when they do it. The schedule is not always correct

Despite the short duration, big improvement over the standard 321s!

Yeah, that would be nice for sure and would open up more options to the west coast for me. Widebodies to PHX do me no good as there already is a CMH-PHX nonstop on the 319/320 and no way am I going to go through MIA to catch a widebody.

Any domestic WB flight is going to be for positioning and aircraft utilization. They definitely want these flying distance, not domestic hops. This is the result of them needing to move planes around to where they need to be for long haul flights.

You sure it's a 772? Looks like holiday up-guaging from PHX to HI. I see a 789 exPHX to HNL and OGG from 12/15 - 1/9. The early flight is the wide body where the early afternoon flight is a 321NEO. Likely a lot of connecting traffic being funneled onto the wide body flight(s).

Yep.....772 with 40 J seats showing on the seat map, and the departure time changed. We are going in the middle of the month after the holiday rush, too, which are usually A321NEOs.

They had two 321NEO flights scheduled that day but now there is only one flight...and its a 772.

This is excellent news as i have been upgraded on over 90% of all PHX-OGG-PHX flights with my EXP status on the 321NEOs!
