FAs locked all the windows to darkest on a 788 from CDG yesterday. You would’ve thought it was midnight, not 4pm CEST / 10AM EDT 🙄

Did you try to override their control by rapidly pushing the brighten button on your window while they were darkening? Did you call the FA and tell them to release control of your window?

I also can't stop laughing at the sheer, willful ignorance of the post. Service dogs are apparently "dumb dogs" that don't do anything medically-related? Sounds like a great deal of hot air. I guarantee that my several-thousand-dollar medical alert dog for my partner's neurological conditions is not at all dumb, and he can detect small chemical changes in my partner's saliva.

Dark cabin all the way. We are not children gaping out the window on our first airplane trip, and children have no place in a premium cabin anyway.
And some of us who are not currently in the window seats are willing to allow the ones who currently control the shade to enjoy that view, even if it bothers us a little. |

Perhaps that explains your position and thus you feel there is no need to have windows on commercial passenger aircraft..... |

Ah, I take it you were not permitted to fly in a premium cabin as a child.

If it’s a problem for you, I suggest you book the window seat and close your own shades. You have no right to demand or expect that I’ll close mine if I prefer to look outside and stay awake during daylight hours.
