Max earning of 75,000 miles/ticket, what counts as a ticket?
So, the 75,000 mile maximum per ticket thing has never made sense to me. Someone's got higher status as is spending a ton of money with us, let's give them worse value. What??
But, they question I have is, what are they calling a "ticket"? I searched through the terms and conditions, and don't actually see anything about the maximum. Are flights on the same PNR counted as one ticket? Same e-ticket number?
My situation is: I've booked a roundtrip flight on Qatar, crediting the ticket to AA (QR ticket stock, mostly QR marketed and operated flights). After flying the outbound flight, I changed the return flight, and now they've got different ticket numbers, but the same PRN. (At least, I don't think having separate ticket numbers is usual? I usually don't pay that much attention.) I already got mileage credit for the outbound, but haven't flown the return yet.
Does anyone have details on what exactly they mean by "per ticket"? How many miles would you expect I get?

Surely the 75k cap only applies to AA metal / coded flights where the miles per $ cacluation applies.

So for example, JFK-DOH-MLE would be around 8,700 miles (base), plus whatever class of service bonus you'd be eligible for. Even as a r/t, you'll be nowhere near the cap.

This cap has always been annoying, especially since it now applies to LPs (which has consequence for upgrade priority, choice awards, etc) versus just simply a cap on RDMs.
Delta removed its 75k cap on earning award points/miles (plus you now earn points on award tickets on Delta also), so maybe AA will also eventually.

But to the original question, once the ticket has been reissued it's a new ticket, and the 75k cap is reset.

Is there a good free/cheap way to force a ticket reissue?

RDU-YUL-DOH-SYD then SYD-DOH-JFK-RDU, as a PLT on C/D Fares, puts me over 75k.
Yes I'm going the long way around, AA/QF wanted like $20k for a ticket (which would have made the LP/RDM cap REALLY hurt, had I actually bought that).

I'm not sure what happens if you have a mix of AA and partner marketed flights on the same ticket.

If that's true, I'd imagine it only applies to flights on AA ticket stock, because they wouldn't have pricing for flights on other's tickets. In fact, I think I've had it apply to a JAL marketed flight booked on AA ticket stock, but that was before the current loyalty point scheme.
Can you point to anywhere that says it only applies to AA marketed(/ticketed) flights?

Here is the page for earning on AA marketed flights: https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...n-airlines.jsp. Note the 75k limit.
Here is the page for a OW partner (every partner has its own page, here is the one for BA): https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...sh-airways.jsp. Note that it applies to all BA marketed flights operated by BA, their subsidiaries, and any OW airline (including AA). Also note that there is no mention of a 75k limit. Look at all the other OW partner earning pages; they are all basically the same (except with different earning rates). They all apply to flights marketed by them and operated by them, their subsidiaries, or any OW carrier. They all earn by distance, and there is no 75k limit.
Non-OW partners have their own rules; it's best to check carefully before you buy.
