This seams pretty good as far as car rental bonuses recently, will we get the normal bonus of 500-1200on top of the big bonus?

But it's also good to compare rates with and without the bonus-miles AWD. In most cases, there's no free lunch.
And remember: only the 500-1,250 base miles earn Loyalty Points; bonus miles do not.

100% agree with checking rates with other AWD codes, and even without any code at all. The rates applied to bonus mile offers are sometimes jacked up, especially when compared to other widely available AWD codes, and not a good deal at all.
Also, be aware that Avis will tack on $1 per day for rentals in North America if you want AA miles credited. It used to be capped at $5.25 per rental, but does not appear to be so anymore. So know they are not free and without the cap those could be very expensive miles. Avis has similar fees with most of the other airlines. They even call it a frequent flyer tax!
