How would you be sure? I'm absolutely sure you have no first or second-hand experience of how this works. From what basis are you "sure"?

Officially.

I'm sure with enough forward revenue, they'd find a way.

Prompted by this, I'm reading through copious AA T&Cs, and "illogical routing" appears to subject you to a confiscation of all points in your account, cancellation, and forfeiture of the ticket at AAs discretion!

Of course, the sum of these T&Cs is always, we can do whatever we want for any reason.

I sent the seller an eBay message asking why his listing disappeared.

He still has quite a few other AA Status items for sale, though....

Ebay prefers to skirt controversy, and either the storm of outside links triggered a review by their security team or some offended hall monitor complained on AAs behalf.

I said I'm PRETTY sure that the airline does not allow 3rd parties to sell status challenges, particularly for CK. Can I be 100% sure? Yes, if I had 1st or 2nd hand knowledge, which you absolutely are NOT sure of.

Are you the one who reported the listing?

"response from Ebay: Hello 355F1, I was told there was a thread on a frequent flyer forum called Flyertalk that prompted me to remove the listing".

Oh, I am absolutely sure you have no first or second hand knowledge of it. Because then you would not say "pretty sure".

I only see a Platinum Status + 75K bonus points for the low price of $3999, good through March 2024....

Would the UA and DL ones start to disappear if there were threads in those forums as well?

Appears you can furnish your home with brand new F or J blankets and pillows from just about any airline. I wonder where those come from. 🤔

You internet sleuths better get going, you've got a LOT of reporting to do!

I'm sure the airlines will reward you with their eternal gratitude, lol.
