What is the minimum status needed yo select exit row seats at no cost?

Platinum. I believe Gold can at a 50% discount or for free withing 24 hours of departure.

With gold MCE seats are regularly still available for free at 24 hrs before the flight, Platinum and above gets for free at time of booking. Gold can get a 50% discount at time of booking like stated above.

MCE at booking also extends to oneworld sapphire+ elites of JV and codeshare partners - AFAIK this is BA, IB, JL, AS, potentially AY, and B6 Mosaic also gets MCE at booking.

The 50% discount for gold members went away about four years ago.
