Just let the purser know when you are boarding, so they can address your parents by the right name. Although, if they have the same last name, then it may be moot, unless the purser is the casual kind and address passengers by their first name.

I'd doubt flight attendants would have an issue with what you describe. Where they may have an issue is if one:
- Switches during the flight (especially more than once)
- Economy customers excessively visit First Class getting in the way or otherwise disturbing
- First class customers who send catering items to economy (e.g. I don't want dessert, I'm giving it to 14F)

I did just that years ago. I was in LAS with my wife and parents, we were flying LAS-DEN-IAD and they were flying LAS-DEN-PHL. (On United, obviously.) We gave my parents our F seats on LAS-DEN. The only thing I can imagine if the FA's even knew would be "What nice kids you have."
