DFW-PVR
 

My flight was delayed 2 hours today waiting for an incoming pilot on a 321 from MIA. AA was a cluster today ops wise and am told it's due to WX.

Anyway I was upgraded at the 96 hour mark (2nd time in my life) and sat down in 1A. The flight attendant was great offering continuous PDB's (water for me at the time) while a 23 year 1st ENT resident yakked my ears off. Her father is a CLT based pilot but lives in MSY. Nice girl and nice to talk to someone who has EF on her phone lol
The flight attendant offered us our warmed nuts on the ground. i thought this was a nice touch. Once airborne I knocked back 3 beers but passed on the food. Choices were a cheese plate or chicken salad. When we pulled into our gate at PVR it might as well been 3 in the morning as it was a ghost town. This flight was turning back to DFW but the flight attendant told me customs was closed so only 80 people on the flight and she didn't know if she was going to be spending the night in PVR or not.
I was the first person off the plane and went through immigration and customs in minutes. I took a cab to my hotel (Westin) and it was $13. I then went to the hotel bar and ordered a negra modelo and took in the sights before walking across the street to OXXO to get a 4 pack of 16 oz Modelo's for $3.98 and came back to my room where I'm watching a storm. My room rate is $222/night for an ocean view king with a balcony. I could have flown to TPA and stay at a hampton in clearwater beach for $425/night. LOL Mexico gets my money.
Great AA flight and the service was spot on.
