Redeye Options
 

I've posted about this in the Amex forum, but I think it's worth posting about it here too.

When I fly home from Vegas to PHL, I don't like giving up my last day in Vegas, but the red-eyes from LAS to PHL are pretty miserable, even in F. I've booked several trips from LAX-MIA-PHL, with a separate flight from LAS to LAX. The LAX-MIA-PHL price in F, including Flagship Biz on the LAX-MIA leg, has been quite reasonable. The first one I booked was $660, and while fares have gone up quite a lot in the past couple months, the most recent one that I booked last week (for travel in August) was only about $830.

Now, I booked these through Amex, and you might need an Amex Platinum card to get them. But the AA website price for a nonstop red-eye LAX-PHL is around $719, while for my $830 I get a lie-flat on the transcon leg and Flagship Lounge access in both LAX and MIA. The morning connection in MIA is around an hour, although I might try to lengthen it to have a shower and breakfast, depending on the connection. Usually the connection is a B787 so I won't give up a lie-flat for a shower and a bagel, but I might if it's A321 vs. A321.

Of course for those tight on time, this would be nuts. Time is one thing I have plenty of.
