50 converted for me today, so that 12,500 LP puts me at ~100k LP for the year. These were eanred years ago, amounts to a nice 1 time LP bonus I suppose.

I was told during a phone call to the AAdvantage desk that someone would get back to me within 72 hours.

However, I received the e-mail with the four different offers about three weeks later.

I also chose to receive miles instead of LPs for my purchased upgrades.

However, I just checked my AAdvantage account and it appears AA converted all of my paid and complimentary 500-mile upgrades to LPs.

So I will call them tomorrow, reference the e-mail they sent me and attempt to ascertain what the heck happened.

Yikes, good luck. I assume (er...hope...) they have the ability reverse the automatic changes.

I too called AA - about a month ago - and they were going to get back with me - but never did and the points were converted to LP today.

I'll be curious to see if anyone has any success with this after the conversion (rolling back the conversion and getting something else instead).

Personally, I only had 10 and they were free (promotional, not earned) and while 2500 LP is not much, it's free LP for something I didn't earn and no longer need to use so I'm pretty happy. If not for this change I may have been stuck buying a few more for some companion upgrades on upcoming trips.

My conversion date is showing as July 26.

The "Loyalty Points" are worthless, but the activity keeps my redeemable miles alive until March 1, 2024.

Mine converted today. 48 x 250 = 12,000 LP. I was able to get my paid stickers converted to 35,000 miles earlier this month.

Lightbulb Situation on stickers

Just a heads up to those that failed
A few things some may or not be aware of American got so overwhelmed with members calling
ADv customer service they redirected the calls overseas to untrained inexperienced agents reading off cue cards
Basically to 86 the calls & get rid of us .These agents typically have thick accents which is likely the easiest way
to tell you’ve been redirected .But also their inexperience shows.Typically someone 21 ish years of age and new
They say they will put in a request but most of the time never do.It’s super sketchy
The only work around is to get someone in corporate or other similar senior agent and plead your case.
Good luck all

Counselor, can you kindly take my case against AA?

And here's an update: I just got off the phone with the AAdvantage desk (with the customer service rep possibly working from a non-U.S. location as mentioned in an above post). After being placed on hold in excess of 45 minutes while the rep contacted and discussed my request with her supervisor, I was told "we are working on it" and I should see the 65,000 miles deposited into my account in a week or so. She also requested I resend my e-mail response to the AAdvantage Executive Liaison rep who sent me the offer last Monday. I then tried to give her the AA reference code for the offer I received last Monday but she said she didn't need it.

So we shall see.....and I'll report back concerning my progress.

I called AA a couple of Sundays ago and was talking to a rep within a few minutes. I gave her my wife's and my AAdvantage numbers and the rep went offline for a few minutes. She came back saying 4 of 9 upgrades of mine were purchased and 2 of 4 of my wife's were purchased and the 6 in total would convert to $240. Wasn't given any other options and even though I thought all of mine were purchased, decided not to spend any more time on the issue and take the offer. The remainder would convert to LPs which are worthless to me as a LTP. Was promised a follow-up email.

This morning my wife and I received separate emails. She has the option to convert all 4 to 20k miles or a 4*$35 refund. I have the option to convert 9 to 45k or a 9*$40 ($360) refund, This agrees with my recollection that all were purchased (my wife's when they were $35 each), given that I had used all of my earned pre-covid. The letter stated that the Loyalty Points conversion will be reversed once we make a decision.
