Two Beverages for EXP in MCE?

Now that booze is coming back in AA Economy, it’s time to remember long-lost privileges….

EXPs get a free alcoholic beverage and snack (for now, snacks will be almost nothing). Apparently, MCE customers get booze too. So an EXP in MCE gets two drinks, right?

In this case, 1+1=1.

Pre-COVID, the language was one drink item and one snack item for EXP, and “free drinks” in MCE. So if there are two drink services, expect two drinks.

FAs often gave me two minis in MCE when I ordered a drink.

Is booze coming back to Y? Or is the ban getting extended now that the mask mandate has been extended again?

It's coming back.

I still don't see it coming back until the mask requirement is lifted early May.

It wasn't my intention to start another thread only to give my opinion that AA won't serve anything to coach passengers until the mask mandate is lifted.

I haven't seen AA backtrack on the April 18 return of Y alcohol/food since the CDC extended the mask requirement several days ago. I'm flying at 730am tomorrow (4/18). Will see what's going on.

That was my assumption as well. But JonNyC’s twitter feed implies otherwise, and he is usually well-informed. I am flying transcon tomorrow morning; we’ll see what happens.

I've never had an issue getting another adult beverage (in my case another mini bottle of the Les Papillons Grenache Rose...looking forward to that returning, it's nasty but starts to taste like water after a bottle or so) when seated in MCE by walking back to the galley or flagging down a FA. 7x/10 the FAs (usually LUS) will give me two bottles right off the bat.

I thought MCE booze had no numerical limit, but rather based on your consumption which the FA can cut. At least I never had issues asking for seconds (thirds on longer flights).

The only time this benefit is useful is in a last minute flight change scenario. At least prior to covid, no one really counted drinks in MCE so you could have seconds f you requested it anyway. So unless you get stuck in non-MCE Y you won't ever need this benefit as EXP.

For the alcohol part, mostly agreed, although even before "last minute", all MCE windows and aisles might be taken, and someone not very long-legged could easily prefer non-MCE to a middle. Plus, there could be a non-MCE seat with great legroom that could be a first choice, like 10F on the LUS A321.

And of course, the snack part of the EXP benefit matters even in MCE.
