Did AA just extend status again?
Apologies if this was already posted, but I just checked my AA app and it is showing my Plat status valid until 9/29/2022 (Apple Wallet card shows 9/30). Anyone else seeing the same?

Was your status expiring 3/31? 9/30 would seem like an app glitch, since a 6-month extension would be odd. The app has shown a lot of weird things during the LP transition, including the odd glitch that has status expiring one day earlier (e.g., 3/30 instead of 3/31).

Yeah, it was expiring 3/31, and I didn't see any sort of announcement/discussion about it, so I was thinking it could be a glitch...

Did you try logging out and logging back in?

There have been scattered reports of people being gifted trial status by AA without even needing to opt in. Perhaps that could have happened, although it would be odd for that to happen with someone who already has status.

The app bug seems to have been fixed (w/o an app update).

Btw, it's not just the app, the website shows it, too. Tried logging in/out of both. Maybe it is a "free trial"?

Few flights Q1 2022 on AA and a couple on B6. No future bookings atm...

Granted Gold status without earning it
Got this out of the blue on Monday, 3/28. I haven’t been flying a lot and haven’t had any status since 2019. I’ve had 2 trips since the beginning of this year, including one where my bag delivery was seriously delayed.

The AA app says I need 24,225 LP for Gold status, but everything else says I already have Gold.

Can anyone explain how I got this gift?

I'm seeing a lot more of these than I am status extensions. Seems almost antagonistic for AA to let people's status expire tonight, including from EXP to nothing, while they're giving out status seemingly randomly.

Don’t know the answer to your question but I would recommend deleting the screen shot with your AAdvantage number clearly posted.
