I know that the promo says that it's "1000 bonus miles," but it seems that it's only 600 in bonus as each eligible stay is already supposed to get 500 miles according to AA.com

Is there more documentation on this distinction somewhere, because I'm not seeing it.
It's also not clear to me what Hyatt earnings one would forfeit in this case. Spend earnings already translate to AA with linkage, so it would seem that that is not lost. And promotions, like the 2022 promo, for example, are not general, but time-specific.
Cheers.

I had thought that as well but, a), it doesn't mention that anywhere, b) I don't see a place in the Profile or Settings to indicate that choice (unless I missed it
) and c) when I called AA about the 1000 miles not posting earlier in January I mentioned this and brought that up and the agent indicated that that was not necessary.

For documentation, see here:
When paying an Eligible Rate for a night at a participating [Hyatt], Members can – in lieu of points – select to earn miles, points, or credit (“Partner Loyalty Points”) in the loyalty program of certain other companies with which Hyatt contracts.
Simply present your airline partner and World of Hyatt membership numbers at check-in. Set your earning preference at the hotel’s front desk and avoid having to present your travel partner membership number to earn miles every time you check-in.
Option 1: 1,500 AAdvantage Miles
At check-in, you must specify you want to earn the standard 500 AAdvantage miles reward plus the 1,000 bonus miles to earn 1,500 AAdvantage miles.Option 2: 1,000 AAdvantage Miles and World of Hyatt Base Points
When you don't specifically request the 500 AAdvantage miles at check-in, you'll earn regular World of Hyatt base points for the eligible spend plus the 1,000 AAdvantage bonus miles. This can be the better option if you want to earn AAdvantage and Hyatt bonus points with each stay.

For documentation, see here:.
So, if one did this at check-in (not saying it's a good deal), what Hyatt earn would be forfeit? Would this be the points related to spend (based plus Elite bonus) that would go away and be replaced by the 500 AA miles? Edit: yes, I see that the Base and Elite are what would be forfeit if this were done at check-in according to the link.
I had been looking at if from the AA side and I might have expected them to say something more than "Earn 500 miles per stay" if there were other rules on the AA side.
I do see your point about the clarity of documentation on the Hyatt side though. Not consistent with what the AA agent told me upon reading their documentation, though.
This seems to imply, though, that an award stay with a very low (non-zero) spend could earn AA miles (and LP) in lieu of those few points. For example, we had an award stay where we spent 5 bucks on a bottle of juice for a whopping 35 WoH points. Clearly 500 AA miles (and LP) are the better option here if that would work.Edit: doing my homework after-the-fact, unfortunately. Seems that this only applied to Eligible Rates, which exclude Free Night Awards. Loopholes already covered, it seems

Or is actual spend even required to get the 500 miles in lieu of the (zero) points?
Thanks for your help in understanding all of this!
Cheers.

My Feb 25-26 Hyatt stay posted dual accrual points on AA.com on Feb 28, as has been typical. Our next Hyatt stay was from March 7-12, and has yet to post, so I'm in agreement that something seems to have broken when the new Loyalty Points scheme went into effect in March. I was tempted to call someone, but based on the thread above will wait, for now. I also broke 15k spend on my WoH card about two weeks ago (before my most recent statement), qualifying for a free night, and that hasn't posted either, so may have to address two issues at the same time with Hyatt!

We broke 15K spend in late January and also no night posting. And, as we may well want to use that Cat 1-4 night at a place changing 4-5 on March 22, we kinda need this in the account now. So we are escalating with Chase since we called last week and they were going to "research." We need them to post it now, and figure out what happened later.
Cheers.

Anyone having any luck with this? I'm consistently getting my dual accrual points from AA flights in my Hyatt account, so I know the link between accounts can't be broken. But I haven't seen any accrual from my Hyatt spend pop up into AAdvantage in the entire month of March.

(As the OP, Im obligated to keep this thread updated.)
Certainly an annoying (first world) problem with both Hyatt and AA pointing fingers at the other.
Regarding ongoing Hyatt Dual Accrual miles (not the 500 miles in lieu of Hyatt base points or the 1000 mile recent promo for 180+ hotels in 10 U.S. cities) which until this problem had reliably posted for most (who wrote above) within few days of check-out (first Monday or Tuesday after check-out for me), seems that most reports above date the problem to February 1st although some report March 1st. (That questions the origin of the problem being due to AA change to Loyalty Points on March 1st.)
I exchanged some emails with my MHC (My Hyatt Concierge) about this problem, last email 1 week ago, I just emailed her requesting an update as to any progress. I just called the AA Executive Liaison Team (ELT) at HQ in Dallas, again the phone was answered by a very cordial live human being after the first ring. She told me that the ELT was a small team of only 10 people. Hold for 5 minutes, she spoke with the 2 other ELT representatives I spoke with last week, theyre still waiting to hear back from Hyatt. I told her specifically that (based on my reading a FF discussion board) there were others involved, she mentioned she lurks on some FF discussion boards, the name Flyertalk came up, she agreed that it was likely the most popular FF discussion board. She encouraged me to call again in a week and said shed love to chat with me again (a mutual feeling).
(FWIW, I had a Hyatt award stay in January for which Hyatt (probably erroneously) posted some points to my WOH account in early March. Even though Im still missing Hyatt Dual Accrual miles from 4 Hyatt stays in February and March, the Hyatt Dual Accrual miles for that Hyatt award stay in January posted to my AA account 1-2 days after posting to WOH. Evidence that the link is not the issue.)
Im off to Washington DC this weekend to see the Cherry Blossom peak, staying (again) at Grand Hyatt (thank you Hyatt for the terrific Healthcare Friends and Family rate), be interesting to see if those Hyatt Dual Accrual miles post appropriately. Im not optimistic.
I expect that this will ultimately turn out to be a problem at AA and that it will take several more weeks or a month or two for Hyatt Dual Accrual miles to start posting again and that some (or all) of us will end up forever missing some or all of these missing Hyatt Dual Accrual miles.

FYI, Hyatt Dual Accrual miles and loyalty points posted today for my most recent stay (posted on 3/22, stay was completed on 3/12). It took over a week longer than expected, but eventually came through. Still waiting on the free night cert for 15k spend this year.

I ask because (presumably) not everyone is having this problem, maybe youre one of the lucky ones (without the problem). Thank you.

I pinged Hyatt again on this today. They opened a case file for me on 3/6 and I have not heard anything. My most recent Hyatt stay was 3/15-3/18 and nothing showed up in my AA account yet. Hyatt points for AA flights are posting as normal.
As expected, the 2500 courtesy miles Hyatt transferred to AA for me showed up as transfer miles and therefore not LPs.

Having the same issue - no miles for any Hyatt stays in February or March. They had previously posted like clockwork the day after checkout. FAQ on the partnership site says to call Hyatt, not AA, if the AAdvantage miles don't post.
Hyatt phone agent escalated to a very apologetic supervisor, who opened a case. I received an email a few hours later letting me know they are investigating. They also posted bonus miles to my Hyatt account and then immediately transfered them to AA to make up for the shortfall. This was 8 days ago and they still haven't showed up in my AA account. I'm also pretty sure they will not count as LP, as this is a transfer, so I will have to make sure the original double dip miles post eventually. Glad I'm not the only one.

Got my Hyatt Dual Accrual miles posted today, though it was back dated to March 12. This was for a paid stay at Bellagio (MGM property) in Vegas (check out March 6). The Hyatt points showed up within a few days on Hyatt account, but took this long for AA.
Now if only my Excalibur workacation stay the week before would get posted to Hyatt!

Here to chime in that the same is happening to me. 2 paid Hyatt stays (one in mid February, the other early March) and neither have posted to my AA account, despite the AA flights for the same trips showing up on my Hyatt account within a day or two after the respective trips.

Our $15K free night (for spend that was completed Jan. 27) just showed up today, backdated to expire 1 year from yesterday.
We had thought about using it for one of the hotels that changed 4-5 yesterday, but had decided against as we really didn't have solid plans, so no real harm.
Cheers.

My free night for 15k spend in 2022 posted today also (spend completed in February). So yesterday (3/22/22) the new Hyatt category updates for this year kick in and today, one day later, everyone that has already earned their free night certs this year gets them placed in their accounts. Coincidence? I think not.
