Starting March 1, 2022, once you qualify for Loyalty Choice Rewards, you can choose your reward any time between the date you qualify and March 30, 2023. This gives you the flexibility to decide when to choose your reward, based on when you want to use it.

For example, if you qualify in May 2022, your membership year is valid through February 2024. That means you’ll have until March 30, 2023, to choose your reward. If you have more than one reward choice, you can choose one after qualifying and the other later, or both rewards later. It’s up to you.

Ready to select your rewards?

Once you’ve qualified for Loyalty Choice Rewards, you’ll receive an email and will see your choices in your wallet.

I currently have 205k+ 2022 loyalty points. Regrettably through end of February I am looking at 29 AA segments. What do you think the odds are AA will be willing to make an exception once end of February hits if I ask of the AAdvantage service team. I wonder if the fact that I have been either Executive Platinum or ConciergeKey for the last 10 years could help... At this point don't see a place where I could "segment run" or add a segment to an existing flight/trip.

My wife was in the same situation so she booked an extra connection on a flight earlier this week to get 30 segments.

Given that this is the first (and last) year of the 30 segment requirement for the choice rewards I think it's anyone's guess whether they would show any leniency or tell you to go pound sand.

I get great value out of the 5 SWU's, so if it were me I wouldn't leave it to chance and would do anything I could to add another segment.

Hi All,

Quick question that I have not been able to find an answer to…

I just finished a trip that will put me over 200k LPs. However, I’m currently sitting at 27 segments, so I haven’t gotten the Level 1 choice award yet. I have a trip next week and another in early February that will put me over 30 segments but since I will have already qualified for EXP will I skip level 1? Or will I get both Level 1 AND level 2 at the same time? If so, can I pick level 1 now and level 2 later?

thanks!

You will get both Level 1 and Level 2 once you hit 30 segments. Once the awards are active, you can pick Level 1 now and Level 2 later, they don't have to be picked at the same time.

Sorry if this has been asked and covered before, but for the 30 segments that are required under this Promotion - do award flights count or must they be revenue tickets...?

Thanks.

Another (silly) question... Level 1 of this promo gets you 1 (one) choice of award... does Level 2 give you an additional 2 (two) reward choices or is level 2 also just 1 (one) award...?

Thanks again.

If you reach Level 2, you will have a total of 3 choices -- one for level 1 and two for level 2.

I got flight segment credit on 100% of my BA Avios award flights when I logged in and put in my AA # on the AA website.

According to the rep I spoke with at AAdvantage CS, BA flight segments count. I'll know for sure next month.

BA revenue flights do count, BA award flights in theory do not count (and haven't for me), but in practice may count.
