Also AA miles are sold at 3c /mile to us when we purchase flights, but when they want us to use it for money equivalent, the value is only 1c/mile. Epic!

Yes, that's fairly shameless.

If AA sells miles at 3 cents with LP, there may be a lot of takers.

in my case the numbers they are dangling are $ 1595 (for I am assuming one up from my current Gold status to the next, and by default they are saying it includes Oneworld Sapphire).
These offers have been around for at least 10 years. Paying with miles is a recent wrinkle, though.

I'm sure it is to some and not to others.

Hi All,

Got my upgrade offer today and trying to calculate to see if its worth it or not. Im already over the EQM for EXPLT but am about $2900 short on spend. My offer was about the exact amount Im short on spend. Ive got two trips planned before the end of the month that will leave me about $2300 short.

1) Once I fly the trips, will my offer update (lower) to reflect my additional spend?
2) Per the FAQs I know that I will not get the loyalty awards (the SWUs) if I buy up but the FAQs also state that money spent on upgrading to EXPLT will count toward EQDs. Since that would put me over on both EQD and EQMs, would I get the loyalty awards?

I expect my travel to pick up over the next 12 months and will be relocating to D/FW so the value In having EXPLT is there but with out the SWUs I am less sure.

Might have asked this already, but should we expect these offers to remain available until after status expires on March 31 or only for a short while after the end of 2022 qualifying on 2/28? AA says activity through 2/28 might affect the offer price, but there's no expiration date anywhere on the site, as far as I've seen. Thanks.

The standard wording used to be some date in mid-July which I always thought was weird. Dunno if that still exists.
