AA1585 LAS-PHL redeye last night, PDB proactively offered, including alcohol. I always ask on redeyes anyway to take my evening meds including sleeping pills. I was mostly trying to sleep but I'm pretty sure there was at least a full round of drinks after departure also. You don't get, but generally don't want, hyper-attentive FA's on a redeye. (Oh how I miss the B787's with the lie-flats on this route.)

Ah you're right, somehow I missed that. Crazy that AA uses mainline on that route. The only time I flew into AVP it was Eagle.

So far, on every TCON there's been PDBs. Though, I suppose it's prosecco though they, or some FAs, call it Champagne; anyway, the choice has been sparkling wine & orange juice. I with those of you who find it strange to have fruit juice as a PDB. I mean, my fruit juice drinking days have been over since early childhood.

Except for grape juice, apparently

Hahaha...well, I've learned to may exceptions to "rules" in some cases, such as counting french fries & onion rings as part of my daily veggie intake.

Does AA even care about this issue? I mean, why make the big announcement and then not bother monitoring whether it's being followed through upon?

Maybe for the same reasons AA made announcements about PDBs before the pandemic but never monitored the follow through. Management doesn't really care and crew doesn't really care.

2/20 AUS-MIA No PDB
2/20 MIA-LIR No PDB
2/26 LIR-AUS No PDB

No PDB tonight from IAH DFW. But I got a drink once airborne. No need for two drinks on a 46 minute flight I suppose.

Had full PDB on AUS-JFK last Tuesday. I was stunned. Service the rest of the flight was excellent. The first set of "good job" tickets I have given out in about two years,

Eagle isn't back to normal service yet so no PDBs and no glassware is normal.

As for me:

2/26 AA 2849 RDU-ORD 737-800: Full PDB
2/27 AA 1250 XNA-CLT A-320: Full PDB
2/27 AA 1894 CLT-RDU A-321: No PDB

Full PDB on PVD to CLT at 7pm last night. I was shocked. Best first class service we’ve had in three years.
