The lasanga was very good and a really large portion which I appreciated,
After countless COVID cold turkey sandwiches, the lasagna was the first hot dish I had post pandemic, and it was fantastic on the flight home after a long day of work. Thanks for the memories.

LAX-KOA

Lunch meals

  • Choose later
  • Rotini pasta
Lemon pepper cream sauce, roasted broccoli and cauliflower, pecorino cheese
  • SHORT RIB BOURGUIGNON
Served with polenta with mushroom sauce and pearled onions

Anyone have first hand knowlege of either choice?

This is also the upcoming meal for my DFW-LAX dinner flight next month. I assumed this would be a hot meal service, but I guess I've not been paying enough attention. Cold meal service doesn't bother me much, but I hate cream cheese and am annoyed that, like cilantro, AA insists on overusing it.

Any idea what the Hindu meal would be on a cold meal dinner flight?

Thanks!

I received an email earlier this morning with a survey regarding in-flight meals. Basically, it included a bunch of questions about my thoughts on options such as Beyond Meat and Impossible Meat, and whether or not I'd like to see those on planes. It also had a bunch of questions about ready-to-drink cocktails, so it seems like AA is testing the viability of these products.

I asked the same question about a month ago and didn't receive a response.

My best guess would be one of the latter 2 meals shown in Post #1452.

From reports posted here, AA is consistently inconsistent when it comes to special meals being hot vs. cold.

I posted a report on receiving a hot diabetic special meal on normally cold dinner DCA-DFW. Other have reported the same hot special meal on routes that would otherwise have cold meals. And others have reported receiving cold special meals on other cold meal flights.

Seems that without reports on specific routes, there's no way to generalize whether domestic special meals are hot or cold.

I've enjoyed the artichoke ravioli multiple times. You'll get better protein options in FFD, so I wouldn't hesitate to go with the pasta dish inflight in case you're still hungry.

So why is American refusing to match united in Delta? United States hot meals on our flights over 800 miles in Delta serves hot meals on our flights over 900 miles. To stay competitive, I don’t see how they can refuse to match at some point.

DL serves hot meals on some flights over 900 miles. Unless it’s to/from a location that doesn’t have a contract for catering in which case you get a sad box which is worse than what AA offers even on cold meal flights.

United serves hot meals on some surprisingly short domestic routes these days !
