No, you have to book them as separate PNRs. However it is no problem to call AA once booked to get your spouse seated next to you in MCE for no charge.

You typically won't know until about 24 hours before the flight what config you're getting.

See the below thread for numbers, seat recommendations, how to track what config you'll end up with, etc.

Aircraft guide: Which 777-200ER / 772 / 777? (2019 on)

Does anyone know when a paid AAdmirals Club membership expires? Is it exactly 365 days or does it expire at the end of the 12 months of purchase? In other words, If I purchase a membership on July 1, 2022, will it expire July 1, 2023?

I have ~75,000 AA miles and my wife has ~40,000. There's an award booking I'd like to make for the two of us that's priced at 57,500 miles per person. Is there any way I can use a combination of our two sets of miles to pay for this? I got excited for a second when I saw that AA had a "transfer miles" feature and then was less excited to discover that they wanted $270 for me to send 18,000 to my wife's account. I was wondering if, for example, an agent could do this without charging if I ring up and get lucky, or if there are any workarounds. I'm Platinum and my wife is Gold, FWIW.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any workarounds to this situation, you'll need to transfer the miles over.

You can always put the awards on hold at aa.com so they don't disappear, then transfer the miles, then go back in and book everything.

Unfortunately, no workarounds. I have a very similar situation and just look for alternate routing or cash option. $250+ for a transfer really erodes your value. Assuming this is main cabin, premium cabin changes the calculus a bit. I'll sometimes get my s/o's ticket using miles and mine using $ to earn and then link the resvs.

Thank you both. That's a shame. I'll probably end up pulling the trigger given the cash price of the flight. Sadly it's ex-LHR so there's already almost $200 attached to an award booking in fees.

Status multiplier timing

If I purchase a ticket as a regular member now, but I hit gold or platinum status before the day of the flight, will I get the miles/LP multiplier for the higher or lower status? I'm pursuing AA status mostly through CC spend, but have a couple of long-ish upcoming flights I'm considering buying as business/first class for the extra LP.

You should get it automatically but to be safe it is a good idea to have AA remove and restore your AAdvantage number on an flights that were booked before you achieved the status. This also makes it more certain that you will receive any other status benefits.

BA cancelled my TLV leg for my LAX-LHR-TLV trip and I opted to just book my own economy flight later, and spend a few days celebrating the Jubilee. Might I still have a case in requesting original routing credit for my AA loyalty points, and who do I need to ask, BA or AA since it was all BA metal and booked on BA?

Is there a nice, efficient sub forum or post yet on LP bonuses via credit cards yet? I want to retain Ex Plat if I can, and I don't think I'll hit it by February through flying. But I don't want to sign up for an AA card (which is best for LP earn?) and then have them do a promo in a couple of weeks that for NEW CARDHOLDERS ONLY, earn an extra 10k LP for signing up. Actually, have they even given any ANY LP for signups yet? Seems like something they would do, like the cards that used to give you segments or EQM...

I don't believe we have seen LPs offered as a sign-up bonus yet. Have you read through the AAdvantage eShopping/Cartera and BookAAhotels/RocketMiles threads? Those are your best bets if you need to pad your LP count.

Just wondering if anyone knows if a paid upgrade offer at check-in rebooks into a new fare bucket for FF purposes. Especially because I'm with IB rather than AA so would it count as a W or J segment?

There are some anecdotal reports on the BAEC forum of folks getting tier points for F or J when accepting one of these offers. I would search over on that forum.
