Just to add a data point: never got an email, but my expiration date did update about a day after the qualifying flight mileage posted. The little promotion tracker showed it as complete right away.

No SWUs for extensions with 2k spend.
Has anyone gotten updated baggage tags with the extension offer? AA discontinued it last year but is sending them out for those who qualify this year. Curious if tags will be sent.

As another data point, I met the $2,000 EQD on September 9, and I just received the extension on October 8. I haven't received an e-mail yet.
