Exp challenge
 

I don’t know if this is new news however aa is offering exp challenges to 1ks and DL diamonds. I know this is a on and off thing but I just got aproved for one all I had to do was chat AA and get a email to send my credentials.

Cool. Was it 28K EQMs and $4K EQDs in 3 months? And did you get EXP status immediately?

Curious, what do you believe will be fundamentally different/better about AA EXP vs. United 1K?

I did the math. It didn't work. I priced out dummy itineraries of where my work takes me and UA is simply more expensive (IE not allowed). Perhaps if I lived 4.5 hours south it would be different but AA is it for now. I'm not going to fly personal on UA as I only want to funnel all usage through one FFP.

do you receive swu when you obtain status through challenge?

Not IME. I don't think you even get luggage tags (if they are still a thing).

really? I could have sworn I read threads about the exp challenge and 4/8 SWUs were a benefit after completion.

I completed the challenge in 2019 and received 4 SWU. I have no idea whether the terms are different now.
SWU were reduced to 4 years ago.
