What can I expect at CDG?

According to https://www.service-public.fr/partic...sdroits/F35295, E-gates for immigration can be used by US travelers, but I don't know if this is faster than the J queue. Will have an actual data point on September 1. Arriving in T2A, hope to get through immigration, bag retrieval, and customs quickly to avoid going into Paris to catch a train to our ultimate destination. We'll see... Hadn't checked to see if it was possible before choosing the itinerary, otherwise would've chosen an earlier arrival.

The internet says that 2A is now closed for renovations and that AA is at 2B. I haven't been through CDG in a while, any recent AA arrival reports? (Will be heading to the Residence Inn for a post-arrival nap -- seems like ~10 min walk from 2B to the CDGVAL train, 3 stops to Parking Pr, then about a 5 min walk to the Residence Inn. Curious if any of that is way off.)

I haven't flown out of CDG in a while, but in the past (pre-COVID) I remember some crazy additional security screening procedures for US-bound flights. Is this still true?
Flying AA back to USA tomorrow in J with checked luggage, and just wondering if anyone has any recent data points re: security lines, passport control times, etc. Also, I'm assuming J pax are given a FastTrack kind of option for security yes? If so, does this extend to passport control as well?
AA now flies out of 2B if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help!

No fast track that I recall. Otherwise it's business as usual. It was relatively easy. One oddity about 2 B is that shops, restaurants and the lounge are between security and passport control.

What is the lounge situation like? I have a very early flight out of CDG next week on BA and not that the lounges are great, but would love to get a yogurt or something prior to my BA flight.

Need to check out the shops. I'm sure there is a list somewhere. It impacts my chocolate shopping strategy.

While the current concourse is under construction, American and British Airways use the Extime lounge that is after security but before immigration.
Generally passport control is pretty fast and traveling in a premium cabin would entitle you to the "fast track" lane which can be slower than the e-gates with a US or EU passport.

Not really needed IMHO as J customers first get out of the plane.
if you are on AA 44 JFK-CDG which lands around 6am, there is no line at immigration.

Which is my better option going through passport control at CDG flying to USA? Use my USA passport or my Cyprus passport/ID card? Or does it even matter?

Does anyone know when the CDG Admirals Club (and maybe CX club) will re-open? The only info I can find about Terminal 2 CDG construction says it's "expected to last until 2024" which could mean any number of things.

How did you enter the EU? On your US or your Cypriot passport. I suspect that it is the EU one in which case leave on that - use your US passport to get into the USA and in your flight booking - and then when you return to the EU make sure that you come back in on your EU passport. I do the same between my UK and my French passport (my husband ditto but Irish rather than French)_
