The candy is the same assortment that many locations had out in bowls pre-COVID. Of everything, that item isn’t the downgrade in the whole thing. (In fact, all of those items were standard issue at some point in the past 5 years.)

sorry - the cheese looked like cut fruit. Still, I'd be happier with that than the snack box packaged foods. That stuff is never good. Even the "healthy" items are full of salt, fat and sugar.

agree - it looks like stuff that has been in the lounge. I still really miss the fresh salad that they had just introduced. That was a life saver

Can anyone explain to me why the Delta T4 club at JFK has a full bar and nice packaged fresh food offering but AA at T8 JFK can’t offer anything else than a bag to go on your way out (due to local restrictions)? T4 and T8 to my knowledge are both in Queens/NYC and subject to the same local laws.

The same reason DL stop serving alcohol on flights while AA continued to serve.

Different airlines, different reactions to the current situation.

Honestly, I think it’s different good faith interpretations of Cuomo’s orders. AA appears to view its clubs as “indoor dining,” thus currently subject to closure for food and drink service. Delta likely thinks differently, and in any event is likely low on officials’ enforcement list. Once indoor dining reopens in NY, I bet the Admiral Clubs will resume F&B.

I get that but one airline (AA) is using a law as a reason while the other one can seem to circumvent this “local law”.

Inflight is totally different as it’s up to each airline to figure out what they want to offer. BTW DL now offers beer/wine in FC and C+.

I can understand this but then why are LAX, MIA etc clubs currently open with F&B service as indoor dining is no longer available in those jurisdictions?

In the DFW C Club. After checking in, you are escorted to your seat of your choice by a host. Drinks are available from the bar. Snack bags are also available from the bar, and today included a bagel with strawberry creamed cheese and mixed nuts in a plastic ramekin (though of a different variety than those [that used to be] on offer onboard).

Interesting, I was there this past weekend and was waiting to be escorted but was told I could sit anywhere I'd like.

I think it's called "chaos" and thus one should not assume consistent interpretation of rules and regulations that vary by jurisdictions etc. and those who are supposed to enforce them. The new "normal"..

Does anyone have any idea if they will make martinis in clubs at this time?

Those have been moved behind the bar.

As the AAngel checking me in stated, "it seems to change by the day."

On an semi-related topic, as I have a long layover, I decided to visit the The Club at DFW in Terminal D. They have attendants that serve you items from the buffet and then of course a full, attended bar. They have a hot pasta dish on offer today, which was way better than what was on offer in the Admiral's Club. There is also a soup, several fresh items as well. Since The Centurion Lounge appears to be closed for the indefinite future, this appears the next best option.

My next flight is departing from Terminal B. Rumor has it that Admiral's Club opened today, so I shall venture over there after enjoying one more Bailey's here at The Club.

Well a lot of us would like that “chaos” mentality to apply to JFK/LGA clubs then as NY state is one of the safest large states to be right now.

In the CLT about two weeks ago in Concourse C/D and was what others have posted here, Escorted to seats. Snack bag. Bar service with one line. Tad surreal, but it is the new normal and so it goes.

Safe Travels
