It does actually matter what word you use - even if it makes no diffrence to the amount of cash you pay.

Taxes are levied by Governments. BA and AA aren't government therefore it can't call its fees a 'tax'

People who call the surcharge a tax are falling into the trap of blaming the government - whether it's the US or UK - for something that isn't their responsibility

Don't let the airlines get away with it!

When I was EXP, I was always able to select row 1 on a 9,000 Avios Club Europe booking.

Two step process. 1) Book with Avios and then 2) call BA to add your EXP number

Or just buy it for $37 in economy or $190 in business rather than wasting miles as mentioned above.

Angry Can't book multi-city schedule with Miles

First off how in god's name did we ever make reservations by phone before the internet? What a total cluster. She was giving me only BA routings through LHR and the criminal $900 tax but I tried to explain only AA metal across the pond please or IB routings via MAD. It was taking so long and was not getting anywhere. I said thank you for your help but I'll wait for IT to get your problem fixed. She, too, wasn't aware we couldn't make multi-city award bookings.
It still hasn't been fixed. I tried today, and the same problem and after 15 minutes waiting for an agent, I gave up.
