Who is flying between DFW-FRA on AA?

Walking out of security at A21 yesterday I see a 788 boarding to FRA. Who and how is one traveling to Germany during covid? German citizens only?

Top title!

German citizens, EU citizens, residents, diplomats, others with exemptions, people transiting to other places, cargo...

well I knew cargo of course but what really spiked my question is the boarding gate looked pre-covid....hundreds of people around.

I have a covid exemption for EU and most of Asia - no quanrantine and I can travel freely.

I am quite sure I am not alone in this....

I fly *A (UA and LH mainly) so I am in/out FRA all the time - it is easier than trying to get a direct flight to BCN, MAD or other areas.

Also military folks, I guess... Despite POTUS attempts, US still has military presence in DE, I believe.

A very big one, especially around Frankfurt.

That's one of the reasons, why DUS/HAM/TXL didn't work out for AA, in the past.

When DUS-ORD was still operating, the were loads of military inbound-pax from STR & NUE, arriving on AB.

There is little effective government-imposed restriction on business travel to Germany. All Europeans can enter without restriction, as can all "highly skilled" employees of German companies (which is basically anyone working in the U.S. for a German-owned company (or working in Germany for a U.S. owned company's German subsidiary who would ever travel back to Germany in any event; no one is sending janitors or secretaries to the German office). Non-European employees of vendors and customers can enter under a certificate of necessity, and the change in corporate culture around meetings and sales calls (enhanced by the vast savings of not traveling!) means that the only in person travel that people want to do so obviously requires the travel that getting the certificate approved is usually a non-issue.

With AA flying the FRA-DFW out of T1, does anyone know what lounge they are using?

That's what I'm guessing as it's all LH lounges in T1.
