Confirmed - Successfully Applied SWUs on TATL BE Fare

Just a point of reference for anyone interested - yesterday I held a BE fare from SFO to LHR for next May (via LAX in both directions).
I called in today and was able to confirm SWUs for 2 x PAX in both directions per available C inventory - confirming that SWUs can now be used on BE Fares (as announced earlier commencing Oct 1).
I did have to pay the additional APD for departing LHR in J, but this is normal. Only compromise is the BE fare will not earn EQMs or EQDs from Jan 1.

I booked Basic Economy from DFW-MIA in Feb and got PE seating seating for no additional fee. GREAT! I will happily take this over EQD, etc. as I have lifetime PLT status
The fare for the roundtrip was just over $70 each, Sat-Sat. We have a 5 day cruise on Virgin's Scarlett Lady

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like it's only real use is for the next 85 days as they are worthless coming January 1st. Who would want a transatlantic trip with no EQD or EQM? If you're using a SWU in the first place you value it's worth and what it took to get them.

Hell, who knows anymore.

It seems reasonable to have a "barbell" mix where you qualify using partner premium tickets (which are the best source of EQD) and use your upgrades on dirt-cheap BE. Everything has its place in the circle of life...

Good, AA's website must still be out of date then. When I clicked system wide upgrade option from the flight search results, it still doesn't show available for BE.
