Live Inflight TV outage? (Discontinued summer 2020)

On all three trips I took on AA this weekend all said "currently not available" on AA inflight. Is this a service possibly AA yanked due to cost cutting? Streaming movies were still available.

AA yanked this not too long ago.....presumably as a cost cut. Very annoying for those of us traveling 🤬

Sort of like BA dumping boarding music because they stopped paying the royalties.

Let’s face it — 2 years from now when things hopefully get back to “normal” this will never be back and the sparse F&B offerings are here to stay for good.

No more ramekins, glasses, silverware, etc.

“temporarily unavailable” my you know what.

It all really just depends on what peoples' expectations become. If the consumer makes it acceptable for this to become the norm, then it will be.

Possibly if AA (and other airlines) want to monetize the domestic F cabin than they might need to bring back some amenities. OTH, Y will become such a wretched experience jammed into an Oasis a/c with no beverage service other than a few transcons, no BOB, no complimentary alcohol for MCE paxs and no complimentary snack and alcoholic drink for EXPs. Even a water downed F service may look appealing, particularly with some of the more recent upfare price points. I count myself in as someone that when the price is decent I will upfare once elite traffic rebounds. I was doing it for awhile in June and July until demand in and out MIA began to crater again.

Sitting in 2F Saturday on a 319 is a downgrade space wise from bulkhead row 5. Worse, the person in 1F reclined into my lap and as I reclined the dreaded bar protruded into my back.

*a319.

Thankfully, AA does not operate the a318. It is an eyesore to an av geek.

Thanks. I must have been thinking of that unique BA LCY-JFK A318 flight!

AF uses them all over France for internal short hops. The ride is awful in a crosswind, same size tail as the rest of the 320 line, kinda too big on a 318.

The tail on the A318 is actually larger than the rest of the series to counter for the much shorter fuselage.

Stopped due to Corona and won’t be coming back, either.
