Award EU American tourist travel in Sep 2020?
We have award tickets September 4 DFW to AMS and return September 13 CDG to DFW. These flights seem to be flying everyday We are tourist.
When might we be told that we can not board the planes to fly to Europe? two weeks in advance, one day in advance, or at the gate? No once exactly knows when Europe
will open up to American tourist, but how soon before the flight might we be notified. thanks j747

You will not be notified. It is up to you to determine whether you are admissible. If you are not admissible, you will be denied boarding. Most likely at the check-in counter, but possibly as late as the gate. If your air carrier makes a mistake, you might even be flown to AMS, where you will be held in custody until the next flight and placed on that flight back to the US.
It is beyond unlikely that the Netherlands will be open for US tourist travel by the date of your travel. However, if it is, there is close to a certainty that it will come with a quarantine requirement on arrival. You would also be subject to quarantine upon return to the US.

It will be at check in, she will be like "where are you flying today", you will be like "AMS", she will be like "you better be Dutch"...
It is what it is, as DT would say...

Serbia does't require a test. We were going, but decided to go to Mexico.

Also OP, consider the Maldives! Better snorkeling than Turkey and fewer hassles than the Moon!

Brazil doesn’t require a test for people landing at certain airports. All you need is proof of health insurance coverage during your stay.
