Getting refund when no longer have original credit card

I have a refund pending and asked for it to go to new credit card. Original card was Barclays and now have Citi Miles Up. They said just contact original card. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? If so, how was it handled, what was the outcome?

Yes. I received two monthly statements from Barclays showing a credit for the full amount of the refund, and then a check for that amount ($5.60) a week or two later.

It always goes to the original card. It happened to me once. After the credit posted I called my old credit card company and they mailed me a check. Easy and painless.
