Taste of concierge key??

Super surprise today- a very nice lady from AA called me about my upcoming flight today- she stated that in addition to concierge key they are reaching out to executive plat people as well given the slow down in travel- amazing customer service- was able to tell me I could park at PHL for free which saved me a shuttle trip.
Anyone else experience the same thing??

This is not a bad idea. I see it this way, things are slow in the airline industry, lets try to give our 2nd best customer, a little taste of CK in the hopes that maybe they will up their game and try for it.

The economy is bad for the air industry, they are doing their best to retain us as customers. Once things start stabilizing I see them doing DEQM or TEQM, perhaps lowering the $ requirement for elite status as they have done already, or eliminating it entirely in order to entice us to fly again. Going back to MR. I can only wish.

And yet you took the time to comment.

Is life this slow and meaningless?

I am not sure what appreciable benefits CK affords this time but I guess it does entice you to try to re-qualify for next year. I would think that any passenger flying on a commercial airline today is being treated like a king. Also, aren't most of the Flagship lounges closed ?

Now if only BA would dump YQ for award travel

When I was on the JFK/SFO TranconFirst flight in March just prior to the major shutdown of the FFD/FL offerings I was relaxing in FFD and a member of the CK staff approached me. She thanks me for my business and offered me the black car service to the gate. I agreed then when it was time (2 hours later) I was escorted down to the apron and got into the SUV to the gate. While I just have Gold status it was nice but I also know I was the ONLY paid fare in the Fist cabin at 3 hours out.

A real taste would be offering complimentary concierge key through the end of the year.

While I wholeheartedly agree if that was to happen those awards would eventually become just as scarce as AA metal awards.

You would think that airport authorities in order to encourage people back into the air would have a limited time of free parking.

While a NICE gesture, how does that help a cash strapped airport? It will not entice someone take a flight they were not going to take anyways, now or in the future. Just lost revenue for a business who can't afford it.

This happened to a friend of mine who is also Executive Platinum. He is a promoter and had bought three tickets for entertainers from outside the country. The nice lady was reviewing his upcoming trips and recommended that he cancel the trips and call the Executive Platinum line to get it refunded afterwards. The airline then canceled the flight the next day and refuses to give him a refund and would only issue a credit. Now the entertainers are now back in Brazil and there is no chance of them ever using that credit. He was planning on waiting for the flight to be canceled until this nice lady called! Now he just gave money to AA and will get nothing in return.

Don't know where this goes, but I got a call today from a nice lady at AA asking how I was doing and what AA could do to help. I told her that extending status was a nice move. She also asked a few questions about future travel plans, both timing and location, it sounded like she was doing a survey as to where demand was more likely to pick up in the future.
