As of 9/21:
Flights under 900 miles
Flights over 2,200 miles* / over 4.5 hours
**Some domestic and short-haul international flights will include a fruit and cheese plate instead of tray meal service and will also have snack basket service before landing.
cmd320 notation (unofficial): the 2,200mi + section for F and J is a bit misleading. Domestic flights within the continental US other than premium transcons (JFK-LAX/SFO, MIA-LAX on 77W) do not receive a full meal and instead only see a sandwich/fruit and cheese plate.
fly747first notation (official) MIA LAX on 772 receives full meal and amenities as Flagship Business except for lounge access

8/18. MSP to CLT. This was a cold outstation prepackaged meal pre-Covid. Awful
still cold outstation but today there were fresh elements. Better than what it was before.
picture doesn’t look impressive but egg, fruit and yogurt (with package of granola) were great. Sandwich was similar to what we had in a fresh bite box last month - choice of turkey sandwich or a veggie sandwich with sun dried tomato and mozzarella. Had veggie. Not spectacular but not hard and dry. Sides made up for it

ONT-DFW 20 August
I have to say that even though the baguette with cream cheese and roasted peppers is a bit odd, it was placed on a tray, which was distributed from a cart. This is in comparison to my ORD-LAX on 4 August, which was still in a cardboard box.
At least there was real cheese in the box, so all is not lost.

No, it's a tool. Because the cheese is served at -670K it is to be used as way to open the frozen roll that accompanied it.
