At the beginning of the Covid “era” flight loads appeared quite light. As AA refined flights, routes and aircraft, many fewer seats has meant in some instances full aircraft and oversold flights. In others higher capacity widebody aircraft may offer less crowded cabins. International flights are often operating way below capacity at this time, as many nations have bans in place for American and other specified country’s visitors other than those permitted to travel for essential services. Check aa.com sherpa for further information about international destinations’ current Covid-related restrictions.
AA does not block middle seats in coach.

How AA are flight loads being affected by Coronavirus?

9/19 AA 2670 BWI-CLT 737-800: Full in F, mostly full in Y
9/19 AA 2077 CLT-PIT A-319: Full in F, upgrade list of 5, mostly full in Y. Oddly the app was soliciting volunteers but I had an empty middle next to me.

Haven't seen an empty AA A319 cabin in a long time, then again, it's easy for them to fill 8 seats.

My DFW-CUN in F/J for Saturday, Oct 24th is already sold out. Most flights that day have no seats in F/J to CUN.

I don't know if this is the best thread to post this question, so forgive me in advance if it's out of place, but....
Why does AA have crew spending the night at outstations where the plane flies from the hub to the outstation and back half an hour later?
I flew to SUX and DRT. SUX has one flight a day from ORD. I saw the crew leave the airport (instead of just flying the same airplane back to ORD). In DRT, there are two flights a day from DFW, one in the afternoon with a half hour turn, and one in the evening that stays overnight. I took the afternoon flight, and again saw the crew leave the airport instead of flying the plane back to DFW.
For an airline that is on the verge of going bankrupt, why would they do this? That is such a waste of money. If the crew is going to spend the night at the outstation, then just have the plane spend the night as well. Then the schedule will be more convenient for passengers, leaving in the morning instead of making them wait until 3 PM to fly somewhere.
Allegiant's flights go from a hub to an outstation and back 45 minutes later. The crew never spends the night there. It saves money. It's not as convenient for the passengers, but their fares are very low, so "too bad".

9/23 AA 4506 CLE-CLT E175 - 100% Full, app solicited volunteers but none were needed.
9/23 AA 665 CLT-DFW A321 - F was full, Y about 70% full. I was in my usual 23F seat and there was no one around me.
Every flight I've taken to or from my home airport of Cleveland on AA has been 90% full or more.

AA is flying 100% full flights.
DL is still flying with blocked seats.
I would LOVE to see data of these airline's COVID cases from passengers flying and how they compare.
