I'm making some headway trying to get some use out of my EXP status this year and am trying to get to Hawaii at least half way, on AA and using UA or another airline and flying in F.

I found a pretty decent fare on the UR site that is NOT basic economy and want to know if AA has the same issue as UA in that sometimes tickets issued from UR show as bulk fares and are not upgradable.

Also, is there an easy way to tell fare class availability without using expert flyer, which I don't have?
