Incorrect status showing on AA (should have dropped)
 

Just was notified (and verified) that my AA PP status (I dropped to PP for last year) was extended.

This despite

1. Not crediting anything to AA this last year.
2. The AA flights I did fly (and credited to AY) only totaled 4 in all
3. I've been getting the offers to keep PP for $3000 since Dec

I guess AA is desperate.

Received incorrect (upgraded!) Platinum Pro 2020 status
 

I have been working my way down the status line from EXP to PPRO to PLT this year as I travel less these days. Today, I received my "Welcome to PPRO" email - except I didn't earn it. It seems that the system is using my 2018 stats to determine 2020 status. Under my records I should only be PLT from 2019 travel.

I'm not going to be calling AA to report this, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Or did I sign-up for a promo that I forgot about?

I just came on to see if anyone else has recieved this incorrect email. My company is part of a large merger and I haven't traveled at all and its also for Platpro.

minutes before you. Same here. I verified system shows PP status through 2021. I'm guessing AA wants to try and stop hemorrhaging elites.

My EQMs matched exactly to 2018 but I couldn’t reconcile the EQDs.

Same thing happened to my wife. EXP for 2018, PPRO for 2019, and earned PLT for 2020, but she received an email in the past couple of days congratulating her for requalifying for PLatinum Pro. Seems like they should highlight why they are doing this if it is indeed intentional.

You all are lucky! I was exp in 2018, PP last year but have fallen to gold due to a change in work travel. Sadly for me, my status is showing correctly in the app with a very ugly gold bar on the side, and no email in sight. I guess I dropped too far for AA to care about me anymore 😕

Gold makes me come out in a rash. I wonder if AA will accept a Medical Certificate to put me back to Platinum

It's worth a try! I'm considering changing jobs just so i don't have to hang my head in shame whenever I open the app...

NVM. I checked my 2018 records and the data in my profile for 2019 are exactly my 2018 EQDs/EQMs.

Weird -- my wife got the same (Plat instead of Gold). Was PPRO last year, only had 47,356 EQM and 5358 EQD (and she typically flies only with me, so I didn't see any reason to pay the requested $895 to buy her up from Gold to Plat, or to send her on a mileage run...)

I thought perhaps it was a soft landing. We'll see...

I've had this problem and I'm only gold. None of them reconcile for the year--all lower than the actual activity. Something is broken imo.

I'll preface my remarks with the caveat that I don't wish any "lucky dog" ill...

That said, I would be quite distressed to find this to be intentional on AA's part--I went out of my way to qualify for PRO in 2019 and ended up paying to buy it back for 2020 (would have cost as much to MR as to buy back).

If indeed a mistake, I'd be equally distressed to see AA fail to rectify it.
