I get that itís cool to get a plastic that says your status, but does it really matter that much? I have it in my apple wallet, I never carry around the physical card because it takes up too much space and I forget to pack it when I travel.

I'm Platinum and received a card. My wife is gold and she got an email that there will not be a card sent out. Agree that the physical card is not needed. The Platinum mailing does include the A&B cards.

I've heard stories of lounges not allowing in partner OWS members without physical proof of status. Probably not a big risk anymore.

And I don't think they've sent out Gold cards for a while, have they?

I've heard these rumors too, but having been to lounges for BA, QF, QR, CX, LA, MH, UL, IB, AY, JL, RJ (basically all of OW), no one has ever asked me for a physical card or virtual card. BP is all they need.

First time in a long time, this happened to me last June. It was a contract lounge (LAS) and I was flying BA to London. The agent resolutely refused my virtual card on phone. Very irritating.

Outlier edge case was flying FJ (Fiji Airways) 2 weeks ago. Lounge access in NAN they asked me for my physical card to get in.

Lots of caveats there especially since no one can really tell you what OneWorld Connect status means.

However, this was the only time in the last 3+ years flying all over where it mattered, but I was sure glad I had it.

Same, qualified for Plat in mid December and got my card last week.
I also don't really have a use for it, but hey, cool?

Likewise received a Plat card recently. Which while it doesn't do anything, it's the first time I've ever had status on any airline, so I do kind of like having it.

I hole punch my membership card and attach that to my backpack/luggage. Acts as a tag and also membership card as well should any lounge agents demand it. Works well and I often prefer it more than the smaller EXP luggage tags
