Fee refunds after ticket refund
AA will often refund many fees paid earlier on a ticket where the refund is AA-caused like a schedule change or flight delay. Examples of fees I've seen refunded are telephone ticketing fee, change fee on a restrictive AA fare, and redeposit fee on an AA award. The key is deal with the underlying ticket refund only when speaking to the AA agent. After that refund is posted, go to your credit card statement and find the 001 eticket number associated with each fee charged and then go to prefunds.aa.com to request a refund of the fee with a simple text description like "underlying eticket 001XXXXXXX cancelled & refunded due to AA sched change - please refund this fee."
