Will accounts be closed for lack of submitting Barclays applications regularly? I mean FAs have to run out of victims at some point, right?

I think I need some clarification on which of the following two scenarios are in the recent shutdowns:
1) I made some account for my twin brother, where my twin brother's name is very very similar to my own name, and used that mailer to get miles in my primary account (pet's account is always at zero miles)
2) I bought a mailer code off the marketplace or whatever, where the original code was tied to Mr. Rajesh Karowski, which is nothing like my real name

Seems like the rampant abuse situation around Citi/AAdv bonuses is even worse than I realized.

Yes and no. Citi has a time period (48 months?) On each card type. So you can open one regular Citi, one business and others, but one cannot open 5 identical citi cards on a single account.
Now, if you open 5 accounts, and get one of each card type on each account, then that's where one would get in hot water.

That may have nothing to do with the situation we're talking about. But it's not as straightforward as chasing multiple bonuses = using/creating multiple AAdvantage accounts. Many (most?) churners for years have credited all miles to the same AAdvantage number.

The physical AA mailers that people were using were sent by Citi. The email mailers were sent by AA themself. Could that be the issue?
For anyone shutdown, did you use the email codes or just physical mailers?

JonNYC Any idea if there are more shutdowns slated? If so - will it be a considerable amount of shutdowns?
Thanks for your insight, btw.

At this point, anyone that played the game this way should consider themselves at risk at anytime. Many in the "other thread" have enjoyed laughing and joking about "eleventy-seven miles per year" etc. full well knowing they were coloring quite outside the lines.
Choices have consequences...
Regards
