My Bad [Mild rant about being given non-MCE seat when asking for MCE]

Was flying on a 738, exit row 15B, I asked for an aisle seat in MCE and was given 10C. 10C ended upping a regular coach seat.

Iím not sure I fully understand the point of this post, but Iíve tried to update the thread title to accurately reflect its contents, as is required by FlyerTalk Rules.

On what basis were you entitled to a seat in MCE?

1MM = AA Gold at least, isn't it? And he was originally in an exit row seat.

In my mind a non-MCE aisle is much better than a MCE middle! 🤷🏻.♂️

I understand completely-

Following this sort of fiasco one then has to update the stitching in all of their towels to change MCE to Y.

Flown at least a million miles with AA and doesn't confirm with agent, look online / app?

Sure, it's the agent's fault, but this was easily avoided.

I had a case where I was trying to move into a MCE seat and the agent at the Customer Service desk mentioned that they really can't tell based on their interface which seats are MCE. Better off trying to change seats at a kiosk or through the app yourself where you can see which seats are flagged as MCE yourself.

Unless he asked the gate agent after the flight was put under airport control. The original post is light on detail, so it's unclear exactly what happened.

Sounds like a last minute plane swap. Unfortunately, this has happened to me 3-4 times as well. You'd think the gate agent would be aware but that isn't always the case.
