Urgent: FlightAware says delay, AA says no delay

I am waiting on AA 1061 MIA-LAX connecting to AA 193. Flight aware says 1061 is delayed and will now arrive after 193 departs, however AA.com shows no such delay. As such, the agents in the Miami FL won't make changes. I have a new routing. Any reason for FlightAware to be in error? I need to be able to change to the new routing before I miss that flight, if AA waits until 10 min before departure to post delay i'll be stranded.

Anyone? Clock is ticking, boarding in less than 1hr

FAA1996 Sep 12, 2019 6:08 pm

Why not go to the earlier flight to LAX and standby for it?

There are no other flights to LAX tonight.

Also, I've had it happen to me in the past that FlightAware was wrong, showed a delay which turned out to be a mistake. Hopefully that is your situation.

There are also later connections through BOS and JFK on CX that they could route you to once they see the delay.

I mean HOPEFULLY it isn't a mistake, AA posts the delay ASAP and I can reroute via JFK or BOS and demand rebooking in CX F :p , I just don't want them to post the delay 10 minutes before boarding when I have missed the last flight to BOS.

AA is notorious for not posting delays until the stated time passes. I'd rely on FlightAware but as you said, AAgents won't do anything until the delay is officially posted (perhaps why they don't timely post delays?).

EDIT: Incoming just landed. Can they turn the plane in 1 hour?

I'm aware, the last BOS flight leaves around the time the LAX flight goes. For NYC, the flight around 1am is F0, so that's out, but I could get a later flight to JFK or worst case the 10:54 to PHL and take the train to NYC then take the 10am 9/13 JFK-HKG.

There's also a 5:30 departure to DFW connecting to a ~10am flight to HKG. Good luck.

It's tight, but FlightAware projects an arrival at 01:15 with your onwards to HKG now delayed to 01:39.

The inbound for your xMIA has now landed and is due at the gate 7 minutes late (20:29)

Thx, at least if I go through NYC, I can sleep in my own bed and get on the 10am (plus Cathay is >>> AA of course).

Looks to be on time and actually might in just a few minutes ahead of schedule.

The inbound should be at the gate in the next seven minutes.

HofstraJet Sep 12, 2019 6:22 pm

FlightAware updated it to on time now. Guess they can turn it in 1 hour.

Beat me to it, back on time. Similar to what happened to me last time, good to keep in mind this kind of thing can happen, hopefully it sticks and OP makes it to HKG.
